I had the voice amplifier for a week to try, especially to see if it fitted under the helmet from the face-mask and that went well. You have to get used to, I force my voice daily since 1998 and now I have to think each time that I don’t need to anymore.
Still I notice that it doesn’t amplify enough, not even in the highest level. So I have some profit of it, but not as much as I hoped. If I want that they hear me well on the phone or on the other side of the room then I still have to force my voice some what. As I could try the voice amplifier for one week I of course immediately tested it by phoning a friend. By the way the woman from the voice amplifier really did her best as for no perfume, because I only smelled the detergent but as for odours she really wasn’t wearing anything. That’s something you don’t see very often when someone from a company comes over.

Some days later a salesman come for that face-mask and he too had really done his best. Unfortunately they hadn’t told him that we wanted to keep a mask to try and so he only had his demonstration-stuff. He did arrange though that next Friday a face-mask will be delivered for 2 weeks to try. Also the order will be enclosed so that the request for a mask can immediately be sent to my health insurance.
I really like the face-mask. Of course I want the best filter there is; that one contains 5 different filters (a coal filter, heap-filter, for organic dust, inorganic dust and fine dust). I have chosen for the heavy helmet. You got a light helmet and a heavy one. I find the light one not really comfortable; you can’t adjust it to your head and if the motor is on the air blows on your ears… considering the fact that even as a child I already had ear-ache if there was a bit wind, I don’t want that helmet. The heavy helmet is comfortable, you can adjust it to your head, it has a wide plastic sight so you can still see something when your watch aside and it doesn’t blow that much on your ears.
While the salesman held his demonstration the hose lay on my bed all the time with the air blowing towards my head. This way I could enjoy and profit from the filtered air all the time. The first thing I noticed was my nauseous being gone! What a relieve! I already didn’t know how that felt, because since at least 1998 I am more or less nauseous on a daily basis.
A minute or so after the motor had turned off I also noticed that my head had worked better all that time and so I had less brain fog… for once it was less fogged in my head. And absolutely not unimportant: I had a tiny bit more energy!
This however proves that there still is something in my bedroom (I still am upstairs) where I react to (as for MCS).
If I have the mask end this week for testing for 2 weeks I of course want to test it downstairs too. I have been downstairs a few times the past 2 weeks for a few hours, but each time I got a relapse from at least 2-3 days afterwards. If I later have that mask then I know if this reaction is pure and only from ME (too exhausting for me to go downstairs even with wheelchair/stair-elevator) or also the MCS and so that there maybe is something downstairs I really react strong to. My MCS namely has also an effect on my ME. Have I had an exposure to chemicals (MCS) then I feel sick and tired for a number of days and this of course isn’t really well for the ME. So I am really curious what the mask does for me downstairs.

Since Friday 28 May I have the face-mask for 2 weeks to try. Since that day the motor-unit is constant on and as the previous time I already noticed that the nausea is (as good as) gone! While I type this last part I am downstairs with the hose from the motor-unit under my nose. It’s Sunday now and I am down here for about 7 hours! So it goes definitely better thanks to the mask/motor-unit. Of course I don’t know yet how I will feel tomorrow, but anyway I feel better then the other times that I were downstairs for a few hours and now I am even 3-4 times longer downstairs then those other times! Unfortunately they gave only 1 battery which lasts for 8 hours and so I can’t profit from the filtered air on a continuous basis, because the battery has to load up in between. But with 100% certainty I can say that I am really happy with the mask and that it helps me. I feel more energetic then I felt in a long time, I am almost not nauseous anymore and my head works better and feels better. I also have the feeling that I get more air and so I feel less short of breath/asthmatic. So altogether good news. Unfortunately this is only when the motor-unit is on, as soon as he is off to for example load up the battery everything is back to normal within no time so again more exhausted, nausea, short of breath and brain fog. So I already don’t like the idea that later on, when those 2 weeks are over, I have to give him back, but well I just have to. Hopefully I have improved enough by then due to the mask that at least I am then less sick/exhausted and that I can go downstairs every day or that at least my days are a bit better. And then just hoping that my health insurance the mask improves and preferably on a real short term.
The salesman who came past Friday to deliver the mask wants to try that I get the mask for free as a charity! His company doesn’t do that kind of stuff, but he wants to try it anyway. Of course I will not prevent him from doing this.
