Misery with WVG-adjustments (06-15-2001 till 01-04-2002)
Friday 15 June they started with the adjustments in the house. On April 19, 2001 the municipality/government gave their approval. Finally after a phone call from our WVG-man they started.
At 08.30h 3 men were at the door. After Henk had let them in, he came to wake me and help me go downstairs to lie there in bed. Due to the noise I of course were already awake. Upstairs they would make a toilet from the wall cupboard in the bathroom. So what did they do first? Right, breaking out the wall cupboard. Shit, what a noise. Why can't they do something like that in the afternoon or in the evening when I am awake. Downstairs where the bed is was another man busy installing electricity for the intercom and the electric door-opener which I actually already should have had summer last year, but the municipality/government had forgotten this.
Well I have lied in bed very sick with ear plugs in and even also a sound barrier... damn what makes such a drill a noise. To prevent collapsing I have worked on the laptop all the time. Keeping busy, you know, living on adrenalin. Of course I couldn't keep doing this every minute so in between I sometimes somewhat collapsed, but luckily not too bad because this would be a disaster would all that noise.
At 15.30h they leave again; the wall cupboard is out, the water supply and the transport is being made and the cable for the intercom downstairs is ready for use... the intercom itself has of course still to be delivered.
As they were gone I didn't dare to sleep, because I always wake up even more sick, I then really got the feeling as if I die... really a terrible feeling. By going so much over my limits I was so exhausted at night that I couldn't sleep anymore (probably the adrenalin was still working). So the next day out of necessity again early out of bed, but well I hadn't slept anyway. The whole weekend the adrenalin bothered me, I was terribly exhausted but couldn't sleep (much). Finally Sunday night the adrenaline had worn off and I slept till Monday 14.30h. The carer was there otherwise I would have slept some more hours. The tiler (correct English?) would actually have been here this afternoon, but we haven't seen him... I of course were happy, because I were totally exhausted. That he wasn't there Monday is also a disadvantage... because now he rang Tuesday morning at 08.30h at the door. Shit again that early being downstairs. Why don't they call to tell us when they come, then I would sleep downstairs so that I don't have to come out of bed that early??!!
The plan was that the tiler would put the tiles at the bathroom where the toilet will be, what appears; the 2 men didn't do their job very well on Friday, so the fitter first had to break again and then plaster. Luckily the breaking was now without the drill so that was less noisy, but now he has to come back tomorrow (Wednesday) to put the tiles on the wall.
At 08.15h he arrives and starts tiling the bathroom. Henk of course comes to get me again to help me downstairs. Yak I am completely exhausted and feel as sick as a dog, why do they have to talk now, why don't they do that in their spare-time.
Today I lie till 10.00h with my eye mask on, but I am still too nauseous from the noise. Today by the way the Cesar-therapist came for the first time, we have only talked about how and what. Next week on Wednesday she will come again and that we will start, I am curious.
The tiles on the bathroom aren't of course the same as the ones who sit there for years now. My carer says that it looks terrible, not only the color is different, no also the size of the tile is different. Now there is an elongated tile and beside that there will come a square tile!!! The tiler also thinks it's nothing so he will try that he can put the same tiles on the whole wall, but that's of course not to him. (The government pays for all this and the contractor decides which tiles are being used.) The same with the floor tiles... oh boy what will it be!!!! How the hell will it look like!!!
