Thursday October 18 the painter came to paint the bathroom upstairs, the hallway downstairs and the toilet door downstairs. This time they somewhat thought of my times, so the painter luckily came at 12.00h.
Unfortunately I also have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) so that day I was pretty sick of the paint-fumes even if everything kept closed. Due to all the misery we went to my mother as the painter had left. Henk dresses me, puts me on the edge of the bed and puts the wheelchair ready. And then he makes a bit mistake... he opens 2 doors against each other and all the paint-fumes come in; he of course meant well by venting the room. He only first had to lie me in the car, because now I fainted through which I fell of the bed and somehow my headband broke into 3 pieces while it sat on my head... weird isn't it. As I finally were at my mother on the couch, I completely knocked-out. And you know what's even worse... the painter didn't get ready with his job and so tomorrow he will come again! I could choose; or he did the job in 3 days and he then would come around 12.00h or he did it in 2 days and then he would be here tomorrow at 10.00h. Well you will understand, I chose those 2 days. Rather early out of bed 1 day then 3 days lying in the paint-fumes. So because the painter would start the next day at 10.00h, I slept downstairs that night. Luckily he painted the bathroom upstairs that day, so the pain-fumes were less penetrating. Of course I have slept that night also downstairs, because upstairs it still smelled to paint-fumes.
I have felt really sick days after, but luckily everything is painted now.
Monday October 29 we were called by the contractor that they would come the next day at 14.00h to do among others the electricity and the ramps. Maybe you already suspect it... no one came.
Wednesday November 14 early in the morning Henk takes our Van to Rehabilitation for adjustments so my electric wheelchair can be transported in the Van. According to Henk it has become really nice. Almost a week later I finally felt good enough to check the Van if Henk is right and yes, it is nice.
Tuesday December 18 the company arrives at 07.30h to make the sliding door of the closed veranda. What a noise; first they have to break out the old one before the new one can be placed. The old sliding door is too small (78 cm) to go through with my electric wheelchair, I namely only have a margin of just a few inches. The sliding door which I will get now is broad 1 meter, but due to this there has to be built a new front... this we of course don't mind.
Around 10.00h someone accidentally has let a door a bit open and yes I got the itch in my throat, I almost didn't get any air and started to cough... a few minutes later my voice is gone and I feel awful, this goes on for hours. Henk, my carer and I are astonished of how and how quick I react to something. From now on there will be better watched out for such things.
