Boat trip with The Red Cross (07-16-2001 till 07-21-2001)

At ’With ambulance to ME-meeting’ I had written that maybe there would be a sequel, because the man from the ambulance-service of The Red Cross would try to get me on their boat trip... he has made it, so here is the sequel.

The preparations
For weeks now I am busy with the preparations for the holiday. You know, making a list of what you have to take with you, thinking which clothes to take with you, how will the weather be etc. Everything what you take with you has also to be marked some way. Stuff like shampoo is not a problem of course... just a sticker with your name on it. But the clothes you take with you, that's a different story. First of all you don't know up front how the weather will be, so you don't know whether to take warm clothes or shirts and shorts... I didn't know that going on a holiday brings along this much. We anyway have to take a coat and a raincoat with us. So there already arises a problem, I don't have a coat only a thick winter coat... luckily I can borrow a coat from my mom, it is a training jacket tho and it's a bit too big but I at least have a coat. I do still have a raincoat from mountain biking, but is has a flap at the back so your butt doesn't get wet when biking, but you can flip it inside. It doesn't look that fancy, but I have a raincoat. So I already could mark these 2 jackets and of course also my pyjama's, but the clothes... oh boy what do I have to take with me??!!

And then there are also still the troubles with adjusting the house for my disability (see 'Misery with WVG-adjustments'). This gives extra stress and also cause me being out of my rhythm. Since they started I hardly get any sleep anymore and this tears me down. Accidentally I have slept okay from 5 - 8 July, but for the rest since they started not. And then end this week I also have to pack up the suitcase and mark the clothes I take with me... yes, I of course want to do as much as possible by myself!! So I wanted to have a real quiet week before I go, but due to the adjustments it isn't real quiet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I have to be double quiet the days after.
