What a blooper

Saturday 30 November I were home alone as Henk went for my food at my mom. In that time a woman came at the door. I have no idea who it was and I had never seen her before. This is not so strange with my ME-memory though, because I can't remember faces and names so it could also be someone familiar.

So that woman rings at the door and I pick up the phone at my bed so they can hear me outside. I ask very politely 'yes hello?', but I didn't get any answer. So once more 'yes hello', but this time a bit louder... no answer. I again asked a bit more louder 'yes hello', but still nothing. Slowly it started to annoy me, because I can use my energy and voice for something else. I ask one more time, almost yelling, 'can I help you?' and again no reaction. Meanwhile a bit angry I yelled 'are you deaf?!', but again nothing. A bit later the woman walks away a bit dazed and I wondering who she was and what she wanted to.

A bit later Henk comes home and I tell him everything. He walks to the door, I pick up the phone again at my bed and say deliberately real soft 'I don't buy at the door'. I hear nothing, I must have talked too soft and so a bit louder 'hi Henk'. A bit later Henk comes in again and says 'I hear you fine, I have also heard that soft sentence, but you don't hear me'.

Henk and I almost rolled on the floor laughing, because it seems I have been bawled out to that woman while it was me who didn't hear her. I am a bit embarrassed though that I reacted that way to that woman, but hey I didn't know she couldn't hear me.

After we had our breath back Henk took off the wire which goes from box to phone and puts it back in again. Then Henk went outside again and now he could hear me talk. (note July 2004: a bit later they however had to come for the intercom, because suddenly he didn't do anything anymore at all. I got a new one and this one works fine, however since short the intercom upstairs has now the same problem... so I don't hear anything while outside they do hear me.)
