05/10/2002: Hi, I’m back again, I have crawled out of my shelter. My 4 days are over and apparently I have survived it. Those 4 days were actually easy, it was real quiet and this was nice. Now I didn’t have to reckoning with Henk and so I watched TV when I could and wanted and the volume sweet soft for my ears, listen to spoken books without someone disturbing by walking or talking… I loved it… but I really missed my cats a lot. I didn’t miss Henk because I saw him a couple of times a day when he brought food or so. Those 4 days I have slept a lot, listened often to spoken books and watched a bit TV.
Monday 6 May I had to go to Maastricht, we had to be there at 14.45 hours. Because it was one hour drive we had to leave on time and I had to, for me, wake up early. First I have eaten my warm meal… yak, that’s terrible when you’re just awake. Normally I eat in the evening my warm meal, but because we had to go to Dr. v. Montfort I had the chance that I afterwards wasn’t able anymore to eat. After finishing my meal, with aversion, Henk helped me getting dressed and then put me on the stair elevator. Downstairs Henk put me in the wheelchair and so we went to the car which he already had parked in front of the front door. We couldn’t go through the back door, because I then would come in touch with our cats and that would be disastrous 'cause I could become allergic to them. In the Van I lay comfortably down on the rear seat…. unfortunately I was extremely car sick this time. We arrived at the practice of Dr. v. Montfort around 14.40 hours. There we had to wait for a while, luckily I could stay in the car. Meanwhile Henk folded out the settee-bed, so that I could lay in the length of the car instead of the width with the hope that I would be less car sick on the way back. A bit later Dr. v. Montfort came to our car to give me the injection. It was really small with a minimum of content. He said that my complaints could get worse in the beginning and that after about 4 weeks I slowly had to try the food allergies. Before I would start with this we would have contact again by telephone to talk it over. After this he went away and we had to wait for 10 minutes in case I would get an allergic reaction. The injection itself was nothing, it burned and itched a bit and it became a bit red around it but that was it. But after a while I felt a pressure on my chest. I have this more often so it could be one of the complaints that got worse but still I sent Henk back to mention this. Not much later Dr. v. Montfort came to check it but everything was, as expected, okay; it appeared that my immune system already started working. So we left for home luckily because I was exhausted. I was so tired that I fell asleep on our way home and as Henk put me on the stair elevator at home and I went upstairs I again fell asleep.
Around 16.30 hours I was back in my bed upstairs again sleeping, after Henk had undressed me and put me a night shirt on. I had to sleep a couple of hours before I was a bit among the living again. Unfortunately I have since the injection more burden from; exhaustion, neuralgic pain, muscle- and joint ache, headache, soar throat, nausea/sickness/malaise, feverish, trembling in my muscles and food aversion. The worst of all is for me the extreme exhaustion and the neuralgic pain. The food aversion is luckily since today becoming less, the rest is still the same.
Those 2 days of last week that I was less exhausted have been ‘good’ days, because since last week Saturday it’s back and now since the injection it’s even worse.
