It’s now Friday 4 January 2002, today my site will be updated so here is a quick last update. I don’t know what my weight is, because since those 46,8 kilos I am not able anymore to stand with help on the scale, not even for a second to weigh myself. But I suspect that I have lost even more weight, despite the eating days with Christmas and New Years Eve.
Since the last time that I have written here, 14 December 2001, it goes worse with me. I have 2 to 3 times a week an epileptic seizure followed by full paralysis for many hours and sometimes also of my respiration muscles of which I get the feeling that I suffocate (this is absolutely not pretty!). Because of this I have to raise the anti-epileptic (rivotril). Due to these seizures I have more pain, this kind of pain persists for 4 days before the pain level is back to normal again, but then I have already had another seizure again and so the pain stays higher what of course confines me even more.
Since the neurontin is raised to 1200mg a day I have more muscle spasms… maybe this is the cause for the epileptic seizures… but neurontin is also an anti-epileptic.
Next Wednesday 9 January I will have again contact with my gp, I am curious what he thinks of it. There will also be take blood to control my anaemia, vitamin B12 and cholesterol. Of course I will keep you up-to-date here.
We have agreed to decrease the neurontin, because it apparently doesn’t work with me. I have to take 4 days 2x 400mg neurontin, then 1 week 1x 400mg neurontin and then 0 neurontin.
I am now off the neurontin and it went without any problems. Even the pain hasn’t become worse so it is clear that the neurontin hasn’t done anything with me.
I had already more pain before decreasing the neurontin and due to my trip to Maastricht (see ‘Dr. van Montfort’) I even got more pain. The pain isn’t absolutely tolerable anymore despite 3 times diclofenac and 1 tramadol a day and so I again have to use more tramadol... 2-3 tramadols a day.
I have the results of the blood work; my cholesterol has went up again a bit but not alarming, my vitamin B12 is again decreased below the minimum and so I immediately got an injection, my anaemia is just as always a bit low but we have never get it higher.
Somewhere in my body (liver and stomach?) a certain matter is being manufactured which takes care that your body gets vitamin B12 out of food. This matter apparently is not being manufactured enough, so that the vitamin B12 level in my blood decreases without injections. I will need these injections for the rest of my live, but I don’t mind.
